I want to dye my hair blond but....?

I've been blond my whole life up until I was 13, then I dyed my hair black, at first it was really soft and stuff, but after a while it made my hair wilder and kind of frizzy. Also it lost it's softness. Now three years later half my hair is my natural hair and the rest is still dyed (I have really long hair down to my waist). My hair grew back a gold/light brown colour. My natural hair feels so nice and is more manageable than the part of my hair that's dyed. I don't really like the idea of redying my hair, but I miss my old hair colour. What should I do?
