If I believe in god but dont attend church what does this make me?

You don't need to be called anything to become a better person. When you help people or interact with them at some stage, or do something good to them, they don't ask you your religious beliefs... What they will most likely ask you first is your name for the simple purpose of thanking you or whatever. If you believe in Christ, then by all means, you're a Christian. No difference with those who believes in Buddha, they're called Buddhist.
