Transitioning Short Relaxed Hair to Natural Hair?

Ok yall, im a college student & have been really, REALLY thinking about going natural with my hair. i recently cut it so that its almost shaved in the back & about 4inches at the crown & 2-3 around my sides. I was really wondering how can i transition to natural short curls without shaving all of my hair off & starting over. Also, if anyone knows of sum "natural texturizers" or sumthings to help me keep my curls manageable while transitioning, it would be MUCH appreciated! Thank yall so much!
